Tax Rate for 2019 maintained at $.255/$100
The Board of Directors is pleased to inform its customers that HCMUD No. 179 taxes for 2019  will be maintained at $0.255 per $100 assessed valuation.

WHCRWA Rate Increase
Officials of the WHCRWA have increased their rate to $3.35 as of January 1, 2019. The WHCRWA rate is passed through to customers based on their water usage. This usage fee, which is noted as a separate line item on your monthly water bill, is paid directly to the WHCRWA and is not part of our MUD's operational budget. Note that the WHCRWA is not part of the Harris County government and gets none of its funds from Harris County property tax, nor does it have any taxing authority. E-mail & Text Alerts
Customers can now sign up to receive e-mail and text alerts regarding their water service. MUD 179’s operator, H2O Consulting, has implemented a system to allow our customers to receive important alerts, news and updates regarding MUD 179’s water and sewer service via e-mail and texts.

To enroll to receive either e-mail or text, or both, go to https://h2oconsulting.net/alerts which is on our Operator’s, H2O Consulting, website. Follow the instructions on the sign up webpage. Note that there are separate sign ups for e-mail alerts and text alerts. Be sure to indicate MUD 179 as your district.

To sign up for text alerts from your mobile phone, send a text message to the number 474747 with the word MUD179 and you’ll be registered.

Electronic billing (eBill) Now Available
MUD 179 customers can now elect to receive eBills for their water service, either in addition to, or in lieu of paper billing through the US mail. To start receiving eBills, please fill out the following form located at:  https://h2oconsulting.net/e-bill-sign-up/

The Emails and phone numbers provided are used for MUD 179 information ONLY – they will NOT be used for marketing material. Please note that it will take 1 to 2 billing cycles before you will start receiving your eBill. Your eBill (electronic bill) will originate from update@opus21ms.com. Check your spam folder if you do not receive your eBill.

Paper bills will continue to be sent until customers fill the HCMUD179 eBill Sign Up form.

Park News
Recently an additional 4.1 acres between the north end of the park and West Road Across from Studio Movie Grill. The existing fence will be expanded to contain the new acreage. This will probably happen in 2015. In addition, two playscapes were completed and in service by the end of October 2014. Picnic tables have been installed in the gazebo.

IGNORE THE HYPE: DON’T FLUSH A WIPE
Operational problems have been experienced at the Copperfield sewer plant from extraneous debris such as wipes, grease, oil and fats being discharged by property owners into the sewer mains which increases maintenance and repair costs.
