To setup water and sewer service with Harris County M.U.D. No. 179 on a single family residential home, an applicant is required to pay a $50 non-refundable application fee. There is also a deposit of $150 for homeowners and a deposit of $200 for renters that is necessary to insure prompt monthly payments are made for these services. Deposits can be made in person at H2O Consulting, Inc., located at 5870 Highway 6 North, Suite 215 or you can mail a check payable to Harris County M.U.D. No. 179 to the following address.
As part of the application process, proof of ownership (i.e. HCAD statement, current mortgage statement, or closing documents)
or non-owners, a lease must be provided to assure the account is being setup in the proper name or names. The name on ownership
or lease paperwork MUST be the same name that the account will be setup in. The application must be notarized. A notary is provided
at our office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at no cost.
Out of area customers will be required to have a copy of their
Application for new Service notarized and mailed to our office along
with the deposit, application fee and Service Agreement. We require a copy of a lease or a sellers/buyers agreement to set up service.
This will verify proper deposit amounts. Multiple names are allowed on accounts if both parties identifications are verified.

Security Deposit – Refund Policy
Any resident with a good payment history with Harris County MUD 179 for a minimum
of 2 years may request their deposit be refunded. If a delinquency letter is sent
subsequent to receiving a refund, a new deposit will be required. All residents interested in a refund should submit a written request
to HCMUD No. 179, P.O. Box 842115, Houston, Texas 77284.
