The Wastewater Pretreatment Order sets forth uniform requirements for industrial users of the District’s wastewater facilities and the Publicly Owned Treatment Works, the discharge from which is permitted by Harris County Municipal Utility District #179. The order enables the District to comply with all applicable State and Federal laws, including the Clean Water Act (33 United States Code § 1251 et seq.) and the General Pretreatment Regulations (40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 403).
It shall be unlawful for any industrial user to discharge into the publicly owned treatment system, unless specifically authorized in a permit issued by the Approving Authority, any of the heavy metals listed in the below document in concentrations greater than the amounts specified in the below document.
